Man in the Swamp.

This Character was created by Stan Lee, Roy Thomas, and Gerry Conway in 1971. The Comic I am holding is his first series run written by Steve Gerber. like most comic characters his backstory is filled with tragedy. Dr. Sallis injected himself with a version of the super serum used to create Captain America to save himself from a terrorist group chasing him. After injecting himself he lost control of his car and crashed into a swamp and Man-Thing was born.  I like this character because he lives in Florida and a lot of weird people and weird things come out of Florida. He is a plantlike beast that larks in the swamps. I don't know how this comic maid it to print. I wonder if their was a focus group when they pitched the idea of man thing and everyone was too embarrassed to say "hey this might not be the greatest of titles." I thought it was just a product of the time but the funny thing is Marvel keeps using this character. More recently Man-Thing has shown up in Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon and they gave him a growing pill that maid him Giant Man-Thing. this comic issn't worth that much because their issn't a lot of demand for it. comics from the 70ds tend to be easier to find and their price only jumps when a good movie about the character has come out, since their is none
